Tips for Taking Baby to Church

March 23, 2021

Ok… confession I was the person looking at the mom with the crying kid in church. Until… I had my own baby I had no idea what that mom was going through. Going to church on Sundays is a big part of my family, but when you’re having to juggle keeping your baby quiet and listening to the message, it’s not the easiest. I put together some tips for taking your baby to church in this post. Praying for you mama and know this season is a season given to you by the Lord!

Tips for Taking Your Baby to Church - Without Using the Nursery We have all been there.

Let’s not even get into the minutes leading up to getting to church. Running out of the house, putting makeup on in the car, dressing baby in the back seat, and getting to church late. I think I just ratted myself out. But it’s true this has been me far too many times.

And if this is you too, well you aren’t the only one friend!

Here are some tips for taking baby to church. (psst… and you don’t have to use the nursery)

Prep the night before

This seriously makes a huge difference. We all have heard that the first few minutes of you waking up really sets the tone for the rest of the day. I promise you that if you prep the night before this gives you such a wave of relief in the morning. Like yay, I’m ready for the day! So think about the things you might be doing last minute in the morning before church and get those done at night. All of these things really add up when you’re trying to run out of the house and church has already started. GUILTY!

P.S this is my favorite tip for taking our baby to church. I always feel like a total organized guru when I wake up and my stuff it all together! MOM WIN!

Some things I prep at night

-pack diaper bag

-iron clothes + set out clothes for everyone (yes even baby)

-have coffee mugs ready on the counter

20 Scriptures for Labor & Delivery

February 8, 2021

Thinking back on my son’s birth I can’t help but get emotional every single time. It was seriously one of those moments that change your life. It’s so special and an ordained moment that the Lord has ultimately established.

I remember wanting to have the worship playing throughout my whole laboring time. I knew I wanted to be just consumed in worship and I knew I would need ALL THE STRENGTH from the Lord to help through this labor.

Being a first-time mom I didn’t know much and I was nervous yet excited. I wanted scriptures on post-its in my delivery room. I knew reading (or having my husband read them) was really going to bring the encouragement and peace I would need at that moment.

I pray that you will have a safe and amazing delivery whether it’s your first or 4th,5th,6th baby.

Print them out, save them on your phone, write them on post-it notes, or even pray them over you and baby!

Diaper Bag Must Haves

February 1, 2021

When I think about packing my diaper bag I can’t help but imagine Mary Poppins. Like I want to have everything and anything for whatever situation and being a new mom I know there is no situation that’s off-limits. When I have a good feeling about what’s in my diaper bag I feel way better walking out the door even if that means throwing toys and other “in case the baby needs items” at the last minute. These Diaper Bag MUST HAVES will change the game for you. I was a first time mom and had no clue what went inside a diaper bag. I mean I had the basics down like diaper and wipes… but never would have thought of nursing bads.

Diaper Bag Must Haves I seriously can not leave the house with. If you need to figure out what you need in your diaper bag keep reading to find out!

MY DIAPER BAG MUST HAVES:

1.The Bag

I use the Fawn Diaper and I absolutely love my diaper bag. It really does fit “half my house” as my husband would say. It’s so durable and can be thrown on like a backpack or over the shoulder. I have to say though that my favorite thing about my bag is the look! I mean if mama is going to trade her purse in for the full-on “mom look” might as well look good. Am I right!

2.Wipes + Diapers

I like to make sure I have at least 8 diapers in case I need to run out of the house I know I have enough. Plus you can never be over-prepared with a new baby.

3.Changing Mat

I looked high and low for a changing mat that would go best with my diaper bag and was super easy to clean. I have the Gather mat and it is truly awesome. I always get compliments on it all the time and it folds so seamlessly.

4.Plastic Bags

Yes, they look like doggie poop bags. (LOL) These really do come in handy though when your little one decides to let it rip and you have to make a change in the backseat. Those baggies really do mask the stench! (PHEW!)

5.Nursing Cover

If you’re a nursing mama this is your best friend when you’re trying to nurse your baby in public. Most nursing covers have multiple uses so even if I’m not using it as a cover-up I’m throwing it over the grocery cart or covering the car seat.
